Happppppyyyy Suuunnnddaaayyy! I cannot believe that this week marks the beginning of August. Life is flying by, you guys! Holy cow. Even when time seems to move fast, I think it is important to slow down for a bit and just sit in awe of all of life's wonders. This world is full of so much beautiful scenery and wonderful places. One thing that I never seem to wrap my head around is my love for Michigan. Michigan is such a happy place for me. The simplicity of life and the happiness that Michiganders seem to carry in their hearts inspires me. I look forward to  returning every summer. It feels like my home away from home. Today I am super happy to share snippets of this year's adventure up north with y'all.

Priorities Upon Arrival: Eno Stacking

After a full day of traveling, stacking our enos was a priority!! As soon as we arrived we rushed to the backyard and set them up. Katherine (my beautiful cousin & bff), Kate (my amazing twin sis), and I probs spent the first couple hours chatting in our enos... no complaints! Later we accepted the challenge of spending the night in them. Let me tell ya, it was an adventure for sure but my back paid for it the next day. Ohhh and we can't forget our favorite furry friend, Frannie!! Frannie loved vibe'n with us for a hot minute before she realized hammocking was not her thing.

The Cherry Festival & Exploring the Streets

Ferris Wheel Happiness
How cute are they?! SOOO CUTEE!! Kat's jumper just might be the cutest thing ever & Kate's off the shoulder top---Get it girl!!!
At "Cali's," one of my favorite boutiques in Traverse City
Katherine, Kate, and I decided to brave the crowds and head into Traverse City to experience the joys of the Cherry Festival. We literally had so much fun. We were probably the happiest passengers they had ever seen on the Ferris Wheel. Lol. Our most memorable moment at the festival was definitely buying some cherries (Kat & Kate-- you know what I mean!!:))) While we were in Traverse City, we had to stop by our fav boutique. We love Cali's!!

 JULY FOURTH!

The Fourth consisted of a full day on the lake and a little night time adventure. After dinner we headed into town with no plans. Nothing makes me happier than leaving an evening open and just seeing where time takes ya. Being spontaneous is one of my very favorite things! We ended up back on the lake with movie theatre popcorn and Michigan cherry soda in hand to watch the fireworks light up the sky (Side Note: we bought our popcorn & soda from the cutest little old movie theatre in town. We totally left a trail of popcorn as we walked to the water... our bad).

The Sunrise

Good morning, sunshine.

While in Michigan, we get to enjoy the sunsets every single night. One night, Kat, Kate, and I were talking about how we never see the sunrise. Even though we may not be morning gals, we woke up a little bit before six and jet skied across the lake to say good morning to the sun. Let me tell ya, friends, it was a stunner. Wow!! The universe is such a beautiful place!!  I definitely need to enjoy more sunrises. To all my anti-morning friends out there-- it's worth it.

FishTown Exploring

While we are in Michigan, taking a day to visit all the sweet little surrounding towns is always at the top of our to-do list. Moseying around towns is such a happy thing to do. How sweet is this little gelato and coffee shop!? Little Bees, you radiate happiness!

Our Fav: The Street Fair

Oh how I adore my travel buds.
"pork-nado"

Every Wednesday night, the town nearby has a street fair. All of the surrounding restaurants come out on the streets and set up little stands. Ah it's so fun! This year Kate and I got something new.  It's called a "pork-nada," a soft bread crumb shell (kind of crescent roll-esque) filled with baked beans, pulled pork, and topped with coleslaw. SO yummy! We came back the next week and got the same thing... we couldn't help ourselves!

Dockside Stargazing

Kat doing her thing... capturing the moment! Check out her vsco here.

Most nights Katherine, Kate, and I would enjoy the beauty of the sun setting and then stick around to see the starts come out. Simple things like this brought us so much joy!

Sweet Kate--- my blog photographer!

Of course, I wanted to work on some blogposts while in Michigan! Kate and her sweet soul snapped pics for a couple posts for me! She's the best!

Sunset Kayak Adventure

We tried to make it out on the water to enjoy the sunset as much as we could! This was probably one of my favorite things to do. It is so calming and beautiful... what more could you ask for? Click here to listen to the playlist we jammed too while kayaking.

Did You Really Go To Michigan If You Didn't Go Cherry Picking?!

After I picked my cherries, I was informed it is better to pick with the stems on... oops!!

Cherry picking is our fav thing to do with the fam!!

Going cherry picking is always a must!! And bonus... cherry picking also means that ya get to do some cherry tasting too!! We always like to see who can find the tree with the best tasting cherries. I think my mom was the winner this year.
