Switching it up for Summertime

Sunday, May 21, 2017

YAY, it's a new week!! Y'all, summer is officially less than a month away and I have been putting together some new outfits for the season. Today I will be sharing a look that is a great alternative to the average summer outfit. It's fun to switch it up a bit!

Normally when we think of summer, we think of sundresses & shorts, (which are super cute-- don't get me wrong!!) but I think wearing clothing that is unexpected is more interesting and exciting. Instead of sporting your typical floral dress or pair of short shorts, trying testing out all of your favorite flowy clothing pieces. Flowy pieces are my absolute fave. They are so comfy, light & airy.
That's why I adore the look I am sharing today. I love the flowy pants and top paired together. It is a unique combination, but it totally works!! When I was putting this outfit together, I started off with the shirt. It's one of my all time favorite blouses. I typically wear it with jeans, but knew that if I would be rockin' it in the heat, I should pair it with something lighter on the bottom. These adorable olive pants sealed the deal!! The blouse and pants really compliment each other. I love love love the color combo especially. As for shoes, I wanted to keep it simple and minimalistic. I went with a short, nude, heeled sandal. (these shoes are amazing btw totally recommend!!) I kept it simple with accessories and added my fave black tote!!

Outfit Details:
[Top: Anthropologie // Pants: Anthropologie  // Shoes: Target // Necklace: Custom Brites // Ring: the farmer's market // Bracelet: Spring Sweet (similar linked) // Watch: Kate Spade (similar linked)
// Bag: JB & Me (unavailable) // Sunnies: TJmaxx/Betsey Johnson (similar linked) ]
--I always buy my anthro on sale so I wasn't able to link the exact pieces!!--

I love that this look is not your stereotypical summer outfit but still totally gives off a fun, summer vibe!! Take risks with your outfit choices! Try pairing things you normally wouldn't wear together... it might just work.
You guys-- I love y'all and I hope you have a wonderful week!
Thank for stopping by Merging Threads!
xx, Anne
